How to apply

To be eligible for entry into a research degree you must have Honours or proven experience in research either through a coursework program with a substantial research component or industry experience.

Your application should be submitted to The Adelaide Graduate Centre before October 2015. Scholarships are only available at specific times of the year so please view the scholarships homepage before applying, although most scholarships, including RTPS's, close on the 31st of October each year.

In addition, the School offers supervision in the following higher degree by research programs:

  • Master of Medical Science
  • Master of Clinical Science
  • Master of Surgery
  • Doctor of Philosophy

Candidates have between 2 years (for a Masters by Research degree) and 4 years (for a Doctor of Philosophy) to complete their Higher Degree Program.

Study can be taken on either a full time or part time basis, with students required to attend a number of coursework components relevant to their research program. These short courses are designed to provide a set of skills that will enhance the student's ability to conduct research effectively.

Depending on your eligibility, a number of scholarships are available to assist your research. Various grants are also offered to encourage your personal development.

At the end of your degree you will submit a final thesis, which may take the form of a conventional thesis (book format) or be comprised of publications, which have been presented at International Conferences or published in well-recognised journals.
