Research in the School spans several core areas of psychological inquiry, utilising both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.

The School's major research strengths are in the areas of health, disability and lifespan development, cognition and brain, and social and organisational psychology. All staff are active researchers whose knowledge is translated into high quality teaching.

The School also includes several teaching clinics and practices:

  • The Centre for the Treatment of Anxiety and Depression (in partnership with Central Northern Adelaide Health Service)
  • UniHealth Playford
  • Ngartunna Wiltanendi (in collaboration with Families SA)

The School offers students a range of accredited pathways for studying psychology, including the Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) and the Bachelor of Psychological Science.

At postgraduate level, the School is unique in South Australia in offering three professional Master programs leading to registration as a Psychologist (Clinical, Health and Organisational and Human Factors). The School has a vibrant PhD student body with over 80 HDR students studying across the various research areas.
