Publication Award Incentive Scheme
Honours and Masters coursework students are encouraged to prepare the results of their research, with the help of their supervisors, for publication in high-quality refereed journals or as a chapter in a peer-reviewed book.
Successful publication is rewarded with a certificate and cash award from the School. If students publish in a high-impact journal - defined as a journal with a 1-year impact factor (IF) ≥ 2 - the award is valued at $1,000. For Journals with a 1-year IF < 2, the award is $500.
To be eligible for this award:
- The paper must be accepted or published within 3 years of the student completing the degree for which the research was undertaken (Honours/Masters) (N.B. an extension will be considered in exceptional cases),
- The authors indicate in the publication that their affiliation is the School of Psychology, University of Adelaide,
- The research publication meets the Higher Education Research Data Collection (HERDC) eligibility requirements (please consult your supervisor, regarding eligible publications).
Written application for an award, including editorial proof of acceptance and your supervisor's endorsement, should be made on the requisite form to the Convenor of the School's Research Committee. Where students are applying for the high-impact Journal award, evidence of the current 1-year impact factor should additionally be provided. This form can be found in the forms section of Handbooks & Forms.
Further enquiries about the award scheme should be directed to the Secretary of the Research Committee, Lynda Klopp.
