Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences Building
Situated in the heart of the new Adelaide BioMed City on North Terrace, alongside the new Royal Adelaide Hospital (nRAH) and South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), the AHMS building has been designed to transform the way our students learn, enhance the student experience and prepare future health care leaders for professional practice.

The AHMS building will bring together more than 1600 students and 600 health researchers in a vibrant and innovative environment where learning and discovery work hand in hand.Over 12 floors, the building will contain:
- 4 floors of laboratories
- 3 lecture theatres
- 24 advanced simulation suites
- A dental hospital
- Study spaces, eateries and amenities

- Bring Your Own Device
The AHMS building has high-speed WiFi on every floor, more than 500 seats across the non-teaching student spaces, and 550 power points and 400 USB sockets for charging laptops, tablets and mobiles.
These wired study spots will replace traditional computer labs, so if you have the opportunity to study in the new building, make sure to bring your own device to connect to the fastest WiFi available anywhere in the University. - Adelaide Health Simulation
Located on Level 2 of the Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences (AHMS) building, the Adelaide Health Simulation will be the most high-tech healthcare teaching facility in Australasia. The skills-based learning environment mirrors the new Royal Adelaide Hospital and is designed to support a variety of teaching modes.
The innovative, state-of-the-art learning environment has been developed to address the current and future interprofessional learning needs of our medicine and nursing degrees.
- Adelaide Dental School and Adelaide Dental Hospital
The Adelaide Dental School will relocate to Level 10 and the new Adelaide Dental Hospital will open on levels 11 and 12, in July 2017.
Run in partnership with the South Australian Dental Service, the Adelaide Dental Hospital will give dentisty and oral health students the opportunity to work alongside professional dentists also based at the clinic.
Featuring 89 top quality dental chairs, the clinic will deliver year-round oral health services for disadvantaged members of the community who may otherwise find it difficult to access dental care. - Unique study environment
The AHMS has been designed to encourage peer to peer learning and collaboration. There are unique student study areas including small group collaborative spaces. Staff working in the building also have unique spaces including informal meeting areas which will promote collaboration.Each level of the building has a unique outdoor edgescape with views of the city and surrounds. Some of the expansive views encompass Adelaide Oval and the landmark of St Peter’s Cathedral.
