Pre-2016 Starter

Most full-time students currently in Level II or Level III are not likely to be affected by the changes, and will complete their current degree without significant impact, as described below.

Students who commenced prior to 2016 and have been studying part-time or have failed a course at some stage during their degree should refer to information for students who have part-time or interrupted study.

Students who are enrolled in a double degree should refer to the information for double degree students.

  • Full-time student in Level II in 2016

Students who are enrolled in Level II this year and have been studying full-time since starting the degree, without taking a leave of absence or having failed a course, will enrol in Level III of their current degree in 2017.  They will not be able to transfer to the new degrees as the majority of new Level III courses (including the compulsory Research Placement courses in each Major) will not be available until 2018.  Students who intend enrolling full-time in 2017 will therefore complete their degree at the end of 2017 and graduate from their current degree.

NOTE: There will be a limited number of changes to courses available at Level III in 2017:

      • PUB HLTH 3500EX Rural Public Health III will not be offered from 2017
      • The two courses PHYSIOL 3001 Cellular & Systems Neurobiology and PHYSIOL 3000 Integrative and Applied Systems Physiology will be available as both 3-unit courses and 6-unit courses. Students enrolled in Level II Physiology courses in 2016 will receive more information about this during Semester 2.
  • Full-time student in Level III in 2016
Students who are enrolled in Level III this year and have been studying full-time since starting the degree, without taking a leave of absence or having failed a course, will be able to complete their program of study this year, and graduate from their current degree.  The transition to the new degrees will have no impact on you.
